Here we have a 2017 Gibson Japan Limited Run R8.

With specs from the True Historic series, such as a deeper dish carve, full hide glue construction and real Aniline dye, these rare beasts are as much as a display piece as a recording/touring tool. (True Historics, as you probably know, can easily fetch up to 7-8000 bucks and more...).

【Specs and condition】

The condition is clean edging on excellent, with the most notable being just 2 small dings on the back and a shallow scratch on the back of the headstock. However, keep in mind that there are minute scratches and dings here and there, due to it being secondhand. The finish is VOS, so please bear in mind that it will not look showroom-level glossy. It has a very nice and worn-in feel to it.

In all original condition.

These guitars just have this singing quality unplugged and the original pickups sound crazy good. They are Alnico 3 custombuckers, which I believe are specially voiced for this model.

Aniline dye has a tendency to bleach in sunlight. Yet, this one still retains much of its Cherry color.

But, if you’re into lemon bursts, this one will turn out beautifully with a few outdoor gigs.

Very light and resonant at 3.75kg. (Around 8.2 lbs)

The neck profile is actually speced as a ‘59 profile, giving you ‘59 playability for ‘58 prices.

【Personal Impressions】

We aren’t sure if it’s because of the hide glue or the select woods, but these have a certain singing quality to them. Such a pleasure to have such a great guitar in the shop. Not to mention, the beautiful sublime flame top!

Lightweight woods, hide glue construction, Hard Rock Maple top, ‘59 neck, True Historic specs...this is truly the ultimate workhorse guitar.

We really do not think that there is a better guitar at this price.

Comes with the original Canadian case and COA etc.
